Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) Retainer Agreement

The Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) process is designed to be a cost-effective way to resolve disputes involving demands for a servicing remedy that remain after the appeal, impasse and management escalation processes have been exhausted.
An eligible seller/servicer or responsible party may initiate the IDR process by completing and submitting an executed Retainer Agreement in the form on Fannie Mae’s website (IDR Retainer Agreement) to the Fannie Mae officer involved in the management escalation process and to the program administrator as described in Appeal and Independent Dispute Resolution Processes.
